Above, I created an infographic with the help of an app called Piktochart. According to their website, “Piktochart is an easy inforgaphic design app that requires very little effort to produce beautiful, high quality graphics.” First I gathered some resources as references from Pinterest. The following is a link to the infographics I saved: https://pin.it/mpztzqkgfmbp33
All in all the app itself was not difficult to use at all. It had a variety of stock photos you could use which is something I ended up doing on my infographic, and the layers created by shapes is very easy to use with the lock option in the app. I think that overall if infographics are something you’d like to invest your time in then Piktochart might be a wise option. Of course as with any app there are always others and you should find one that is right for you. The following is a link to the app store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/piktochart/id924299646?mt=8
I think this application in strong in the user options it has for customization. In education it will be healthy for students to have a wide variety of options so that they do not feel tied down to one concept when creating their infographic. In art we can use this application as a beginning introduction to graphic design through which we can further other aspects in art.
Other classes and fields or even in art we are only limited to our imagination. So maybe in a history class students will create a timeline of US history during the Cold War or maybe in Literature class you can create an infographic about your favorite book. The list is endless. To conclude Piktochart was an interesting but efficient application to use mostly because the thought of creating infographics rather than just seeing them is so new to me. |
As for the app itself here is a breakdown of versions available and their price. I did my infographic on the free version.
